Things I’m Proud of: this scrapbook that I spent hours upon hours making as a wedding gift for my brother and my new sister-in-law. I decided about a week and a half before the wedding that this is what I wanted to do, and then I proceeded to drop everything—even gratuitous beer dates with my friends—to work on this for nearly 5 hours every night for a week.
In the end, I was one sore motherfucker, and no matter how hard I cleaned, I still found scraps of colored paper everywhere…between my sheets, along the floorboards, in my desk, etc. Not to mention, I had spent hours and hours researching scrapbook websites, forums, and blogs to teach myself everything I needed to know about layouts, mosaic-ing, chalking, dry-embossing, tearing, quilling, and all sorts of random other shit. (See, future employers?? See how I throw myself into random shit and soak up everything I can in 1.5 weeks? This can also be applied to subjects like “stalking my ex’s new gf” and “determining if Boo the Dog’s owner is indeed a small, Asian girl.” Please hire me.)
Needless to say, it was definitely one of my proudest accomplishments this summer.
